History
Founded in 1907, ATB is today a reality that operates in the Bergamo area and in the 29 neighbouring municipalities, offering services in the field of transport and mobility to tens of thousands of people every day.
Over the years, its activities have expanded both in the field of public transport (funiculars, buses and trams) and mobility (parking, infomobility, ZTL, bike sharing).
In order to better govern the processes and meet the needs of the community, ATB has structured itself into a Group consisting of several companies headed by ATB Mobilità Spa. In 2003, as a result of the separation of public transport from the other corporate activities, as required by regional legislation, ATB Spa gave birth to ATB Servizi Spa, certified UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 and UNI EN 13816.
Technological innovation to improve the service is the main driver behind the investments of recent years.
Through the implementation of the Quality System, ATB Servizi undertakes to ensure customer satisfaction and to meet their expectations by maintaining their trust, carrying out its activities in accordance with the required quality standards and adapting its professional skills. ATB is an active member of ASSTRA Transport Association and UITP International Association of Public Transport to promote the culture of sustainable mobility and to share best practices and challenges of the sector on a national and international scale.
ATB Mobilità SpA
The company operates in the field of mobility services with the following activities:
- Surface parking management in the city (approximately 2,500 parking spaces)
- Maintenance of traffic signs and management of traffic lights using intelligent technologies
- Management of electronic barriers and bollards in restricted traffic zones (ZTL)
- Infomobility and coordination of all services through the Mobility Centre
Together with Parcheggi Italia Spa and a number of other companies in the area, ATB has set up Bergamo Parcheggi Spa, a special-purpose company with the task of creating via della Fara car park.
ATB Servizi SpA
The company operates in the field of public transport by managing:
- The bus network extending from the city of Bergamo to the 29 municipalities of the Urban Area, including a fully electric line
- The City and San Vigilio funicular railways
- The Bergamo and Albino tramway (Line T1), which came into service in 2009, managed by TEB Spa, a company in which ATB holds a 45% stake
- Extra-urban transport services in the province of Bergamo (SUD sub-network), through the company TBSO
- Commercial activities such as the sale of dynamic advertising space on its vehicles and the rental of commercial premises.
